THE FOLLY OF A GARDEN II is the second part of a 3-part dance-theatre piece inspired by the 2009 international auction of two of the original twelve bronze zodiac heads from 圆明园 (one Rat and one Rabbit heads from the old Summer Palace's water clock fountain in the Qing Dynasty. 圆明园 was plundered by Anglo French forces and razed to the ground in1860).

The bestiary masquerade of FOLLY II is held in a hidden small garden surrounded by new highrise developments in the heart of the city. The audience come as roaming guests (they will be given masks to wear) and encounter dancers and musicians in fantasy bestial getups.

Culture Medallion Choreographer Angela Liong inserts molecular performances into nooks and crannies at the Cairnhill Arts Centre, and invites creative designer Lim Chin Huat (co-artistic director of ECNAD Project) to construct dramatic head-masks and costumes that enable dancers to move in labyrinthic spaces. Composer Joyce Beetuan Koh directs a Chinese music trio playing an array of antiquated instruments and weaves sonic characteristics into a surreal landscape.
